Can recieve ip from router but can't access inet

I was brought a computer after a friend tried to remove the vundo malware with ccleaner and it failed to remove it but was no longer able to access the internet. I can connect it to my network and it receives an ip but i can not ping my router or get any other computer on the network to ping the infected computer. I have removed all malware that i could find on it but have yet to be able to access the internet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,

Hi jfd1980 and welcome to MGs,

You should go to the Malware Forum and do the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide. (You will have to download the tools on another machine and transfer them to the infected comp by CD or thumb drive.)
After running the procedure, submit your logs and 1 of the Malware experts will get with you to clean up your machine.
If you still have problems connecting after being cleaned up, repost here with your problem.
Some recent malware variations can disable the internet connection, so unless you are cleaned up, anything someone tries to help you with will probably not work.
