Can someone help?

    Tim,
    can I run the AVG free edition or do you need me to download AVG from the link you sent me?

    The AVG freeware edition is anti-virus ...the other is anti-spyware.

    Tim,
    I just finished running the AVG, and after I selected to apply all actions, I received and error while quarantining message. It states:Failed to make a back up fo rhte file C:\system Volume Information\restore{EF255B1B-784C-46DE-86DB-1933797F8600}\RP8\A0000039.exe. Do you want to remove it anyway? Should I choose yes or no?

    This is in your system restore files ...you can click yes ...and when done, right click My computer / system restore ...check the box to turn it off....reboot your computer and then go back and uncheck the box ...

    I would also suggest that you go to start / accessories / system tools / defragment....and run that.

    ok after clicking yes about 25 times I recieved this warning:
    The file C:\programsFiles\a-squaredFree\quarantine
    4DE1FED1E04E97DD5D7D0FD9B730E73FFAE8F7.a2q\program files\sws\weatherbug/minibugTrabsporter.dll cabbot be quarantined because it is embedded in the archive C:\programFiles\a-squaredFree\Quarantine\4DE1FED1E04E97DD5D7D0FD9B30E735FFAEA8F7.2q. Do you want to quarantine the whole archive?

    Skip that and "toggle" system restore ...that will remove those items.

    opps ...getting late...need to clean glasses ...don't worry with those ...they are in a quarantine folder and we can remove them later. They are safely quarantined.

    I clicked on reports in the AVG and it says No reports available. I followed the tutorial exactly the way it said to.

    I just double checked and it does have a check next to automatically generate report after evey scan

    If all it found were the files in your system restore volume and the quarantined files that you didn't have it fix ...then there would be no report.

    Go ahead and reset your restore and do the defragmenting and then get online and do the bitdefender scan again ...let's see if it picks anything up.

    Ok,
    I re ran bitdefender and it found nothing! I hope that is good.
    When I did a defrag I saved the file and attatched it. Just in case you would like to look at that.
