Can someone please tell me what this is?

Hello.

My friend was talking to me on MSN Messenger and told me that a few minutes earlier she got an unusual pop-up on her screen and didn't know what to do about it. She said she had left her computer for a few minutes and when she came back a Java Console message was on her screen.

I didn't know what to tell her. She tried closing and clearing the message but it didn't do any good. It just stayed there.

I told her to re-boot her computer and log back onto the internet and see if it happened again. It didn't.

Anyway, can someone please tell me what it mean? Thanks.

 

The Java Console is a simple debugging aid that redirects any System.out and System.err to the console window. It is available for applets running with Java Plug-in and applications running with Java Web Start. The Java Console provides various options to make applet and application debugging easier.

The Java Console may be shown, hidden, or not started at startup time, as configured through the Java Control Panel in the Advanced tab.

Thanks for the response, bjgarrick. I kinda figured that's what it was.

It turns out that my friends brother was trying to play some online poker and that Java message came up. Some sort of connection error. I'm glad it's nothing serious. My friend gets worried very easiely when something goes wrong with her computer.
