Hi everyone. I recently decided to cleanup a bit around my pc. I had so many drives in there that I figured I would delete a few. I have C,D,BurnerDrive and PlayDrive or DVD drive. I deleted all the others as there were about 6 other ones showing. Go figure hey. Hell is paved with good intentions they say.

Anyway, I wanted to move some pictures from my digital camera to a folder on my desktop which I had done many times before and it doesn`t read that the drive is ready or anything when I plug in the camera to my usual usb port in front of the computer.

Help me get my drives back please?????? I tried to reinstall XP keeping my settings but I had to show a new administrator name cause it would have erased all my good stuff on my old name. So I deleted the new name cause it just looked like a clean install there. But it did show all the drives though. Now I am back to my regular administrator name and still no drives. There must be a way inside the computer to show the drives back again.

:cry:cry:cry Pleaaaaaaaaaase help......and it that`s not the cause why I can`t get my camera to show a drive, help there too please.

PS. When I open my external hard drive, it shows a new drive and letter. Why won`t it do it with the camera? Thanks

    Melle :)

    With the device plugged in...

Goto control panel> admin tools> computer management and select disk management.
Check there for a drive that does not have a letter, then click on the drive and assign a letter.

Might be there if Windows is detecting it correctly...

Thanks my friend. For some reason I used this little program I found in the forum to show dvd and burning drives (which were already there but I thought the program was to show ALL drives), anyway, I had to reboot for something else and now all my drives are showing again. Go figure. Thanks :)

I'd figured when you reinstalled xp and would of rebooted they should of shown up. It happens when you do a right click and eject on MM readers they disappear until next reboot. Since you said they still went showing up I went to the next step.. Anyways, enjoy.
