Can The Task Scheduler Be Locked?

I've recently had to spend a lot of time clearing out many of the scheduled tasks various programs have taken it upon themselves to run on my system when installing. This is quite annoying and something I find to be very intrusive. I was wondering if there is any way to lock the Windows 7 Task Scheduler to keep any future installations from creeping stuff in there behind my back? Can it be done?

    Thanks!

You can disable Task Scheduler however, many scheduled tasks are created by Windows.
If you're running a Windows edition that includes Group Policy Editor you can prevent users from creating tasks.
But, it seems there's no way to stop third-party programs from creating tasks.

When you install something always select Custom. Don't let the warning for Advanced users only scare you. They prefer you not see all the uneeded junk that gets installed.
I follow this or even run a portable version of some programs.

I've been using Win 7 on the desktop for more than 2 years and have no tasks. I never had to clean a thing out.

Looks like I had 2 tasks that ran this year. CCleaner skipped UAC when I opened to look at something the other day. The one at the top is the sceensaver I use. I think I installed a new version in January.

    While we're waiting for techtitan...
Why do you have a task for the screensaver?
I would delete the other 3.
Here's mine - 3 are to skip UAC.

I'm not sure. It is a third party screensaver downloaded from a site in the Netherlands. It is a moving calendar and I updated it because the one I was using didn't have 2016.
So it appears that it was newly created.

You only get Group Policy Editor with Pro or above pro windows.Windows Home does not have Group Policy Editor for some unknown reason.
