Can We Correspond Via Email?

hello i am at a friends home. my pc is so buggy it only stays on aprox 10 min then shuts down..i have been told by my friend that i will need to get and run hijackthis..
my question is
is it possible to find help via email back and forth? im afraid if i keep logging on to this website i will loose everything and not to mention valuable time my pc stays on
please advise!
