Can you disable the history in IE 6.0?

My buddy has a prying wife who likes to look at his internet history. Sometimes he forgets to delete his history after he logs off the computer and his wife is able to just jump in there and see all the porn.....errr all the internet sites he has been to. Is there a way to go into Windows some how and stop IE from recording the history?

yes. unless his wife is a comper analysis, just deleting the history will be good enough. Tools, internet options, days to keep history = 0, and delete temperorary internet files.

TWEAKUI

Download and install TWEAKUI from http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp
It is a powertoy written by microsoft for Win 95,98,ME,2k and NT but it also works for XP.

Tweakui has a bunch of extra settings you can chagne but in particular you wil find the Paranoia tab to be of use to you. It contains a setting to clear the Internet Explorer history at logon. So no URL's will even show up in the pull down for teh address bar.

Also you may want to set internet explorer to use 0 MBs of space to save temorary internet files in case she is savvy enough to view your internet cache directory and check out all the prOn gifs and jpegs.

Deleting History

Cookie muncher from www.bigwig.net is a very useful deleter of all that sort of bumpf. However the sites U visited still remain in the index.dat files and a program called Spider, also freeware will kill them off for you. Use google to search for the latter prog.
