Can you recomend a complete codec pack and video player?

Just like the title says.

If you could provide a link that would be great as i know these packs can have malware bundled with them

I just have what comes with win7 atm.

VLC player and Shark007 Windows Codec Pack work great. Also you can install Divx player and codec pack to get the best performance for Divx files.

 

Both above recommendations are very good for minimal codecs that you need without extras that you don't need.

I, personally, use Shark007 since switching to Win7. It gives all you need without unnecessary extras.

It has worked great for me plays almost ever file you throw at it. Works great on windows XP not sure about other cause thats all i got.
