    Background,

My brother asked me to take a look at his laptop, It was full of viruses, No control panel, no C drive showing, couldn't use run command or system restore. and I could not got onto the internet without a hijack taking me to dodgey sites.
So to start the read and run me I had to use my laptop and download the programes using a USB drive, Superantispyware run but without internet I could not update the program the same with Malwarebytes, both Ran fine, found loads rebooted and I had most of the functions back. The I ran spybot which again found lots, Combofix and MGtools also ran but I'm not sure CF worked.

I'm not confident this machine is clean. I've never seen anything so bad. I've attached logs for you viewing.

    Many thanks in advance

You did not agree to the HJT license when you ran MGTools.....I will want you to do that when we re-run it.

    In the meantime:
download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the "Input script here:"
    part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Be sure to tell us how things are running.

    Hi Tim.

    Thankyou for your speedy reply.

Avenger worked fine, but after reboot a critical error occured and I got this message (A problem was detected and windows need to shut down) Driver-IRQL-not_less_or_equal. Rebooted again and It was fine. I ran MG Tools but I think there is a problem running it I got an error message

(C/mctool/analyse.exe is not a valid win32 application) It did run through the process but I'm not sure it work.

The Laptop is working, It's slow but that's got to be all the programs on it.

    I've attached both logs.

    Many thanks for your help.

You may wish to use a Startup Manager

Your logs look clean, so we just need to clean up from the scans:

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

If you get a success message, then it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significan amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below

      * Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    3. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

      • Delete the C:\combo-fix folder from combofix.

    4. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    5. If we had you run RenV.exe, you can delete it and the Log.txt file on your Desktop.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    8. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    9. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    10. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    11. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    12. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
