I am having terrible issues with my computer in which I am unable to open about 90% of the files that I have on my computer. Most of the media and that I have downloaded will not open with windows media player or several other media players that I have tried. When I try to open it with windows media player they say something about not having access. When I open it with other media players nothing happens at all. Also, If I try to organize my files into subfolders I will not be able to open them once I move them. This goes for any type of file: once I move them “access is denied”. Recently I have tried to open some of this media that is giving me trouble and it is playing a completely different file. For example: I try to open a song and one of my mpegs start playing. My computer is running extremely slow also.
All of this media once worked fine, but suddenly it just started messing up. I did chkdsk and there are no bad sectors. ive deleted all spyware with Adware and Spybot. I also deleted a few things, with the assistance of a tech, with Hifjackthis. I updated Norton Antivirus virus definitions and scanned my computer and nothing came up. I did a scan with Ewido and an online Panda scan and they each turned up different viruses and I deleted them. Ive since done a Kaspersky online scan it turned up another 22 viruses that the other anti virus software did not turn up. I am logged on as the admin as well. What is going on!!??? I would greatly appreciate any help, for this problem has been going on about 5 months now and is pissing me off. Here is a link to the Kaspersky log if necessary(it is quite long) Also, here is my new Hijackthis log.

    Thanks!!

Hi and welcome while I note you seem cluey about these things, do please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

The guide steps may just clear up and highlight the potential malware thats infecting your PC.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
