I have a desktop and a laptop, both running Windows 7 Pro. I also have two SCSI drives attached to a linksys router. The desktop can access the drives without any problems. My laptop uses the wireless network which the router is also connected to via cable. When I first setup this configuration, I could access the two SCSI drives from the laptop. At some point, I had to reinstall Windows on my desktop. After that, I can no longer access the drives from my laptop. They show up in My Computer with the correct drive IDs; however, I cannot access the files. The drives show up as shared and I have tried various things, including my security settings, etc. without any success.

While I am reasonably comfortable with the setup, this one has me puzzled. Can anyone offer up some suggestions on what I can do OR what the problem might be? Would appreciate any help on this ...

    Thanks in advance ...

First make sure that Windoze does NOT think you are on a Home network or it won't see devices not running 7.
Next, open the Network and Sharing Center and click on the center (Network) icon at the top which will then scan your network.
If it shows the drives, try right clicking and connect.
If it doesn't, cycle the power on both the router and the drives then try again.
Once they appear, you probably need to disconnect them in Explorer and remake the mappings as they (bizarrely enough) are tied to the credentials of the old Windows.
