    OK, heres the gist:

At the office, we have 5 pc's connected to a server (via a 16 port router) running Windows Server 2003 - all pc's run XP. One pc (that was working fine) was re-formatted by someone there, and I re-loaded the XP cd's that came with the pc.

Even tho I can get the pc to access the server via it's IP address (but it's really slooooow), I cannot get the pc to log onto the office net {the net is called sb-dc}. The ps's are not connected to internet - no internet there.

This pc cannot even 'see' sb-dc, no matter what I've tried - so apparently I'm missing something. I've changed cables, I've connected to different ports on the router - no change.

Each pc and the server has it's own IP address, and this pc can see the others IP addresses (I assume thru the server, since this pc is not connected to the LAN).

For example, there is a printer connected to the server - and when I try the 'add printer' wizard, I have the pc browse for networks and as I already said, it cannot see the sb-dc LAN.

And again, I got this pc to access the server via the IP address, and this pc can access ALL of the folders, files, programs etc on the server - but it is amazingly slow considering it has an 1 Gb ethernet board/connection.

What am I missing - why can't it 'see' sb-dc --- no problems with any of the other pc's or server. :confused

    thanks

(I'll check back every day after I get home from work, since there is no internet there)

Are you set up as a domain?

    Hello,

    Thanks for asking.

Yes the pc is set up for a domain, the same one it had even before the pc got screwy *_*.

    Thanks for the input.

    Do you have another suggestion?

    thanks

(I'm of the opinion, that maybe the some part of the net 'path' is not right - maybe the "//: " etc, but I can't see the difference from the other pc's - I don't know where to 'force' it to see the path -- which screen I should use to manually input the parameters and/or path?)
