Cannot connect to my wifi network

    I've recently upgraded my IBM thinkpad t42 to window xp, recently installed all my drivers, now once I find my wifi and select it it never connects always fails. I've tried everything now I'm confused on what to do next.

    What is the make and model of your wireless router?

    Do you have cable, or DSL?

    Have you unplugged the router, and the modem for at least a minute, and plugged them back in?

    Yes i've tried restarting and i've left it unplugged overnight , still no luck. But the router is a Netgear WNR1000V2.
