    so, I did some scans. .ran through the read me

    with all hidden files shown. .and not
    and at one point I had the windows files as well

    I still have no idea what is causing the browsers to close(I only have one open at a time)
    my wife doesn't like FF, and I am trying out Opera. .

    The title of your thread just indicates you cannot find a file. You Panda log shows you where it is: c:\windows\didduid.ini

    Unless something else deleted it, it should still be there.

    You don't show any signs of malware! You just show possible over use of antispyware type protection:
    AvoraxShield
    BHODemon 2.0.0.23
    SpywareGuard v2.2
    Sunbelt CounterSpy
    Windows Defender

    You are also three versions out of date with Sun Java. You have J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6. Install the current version and then uninstall the old version.

    Also you appear to have some old services from Symantec disable via MSconfig. They are shown as:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\services]
    "navapsvc"=dword:00000002
    "ccPwdSvc"=dword:00000003
    "ccEvtMgr"=dword:00000003

    You should make sure that the services tab in MSconfig does not have anything unchecked. Then if these services show up in your HJT log, they should be deleted.

    right. .the scans say its there

    but. . .visually. .it is not
    even withh all possible files not hidden
    it is not there

    I installed a few scanners to look a litle more
    a few will be uninstalled

    I will update the java. .

    and forgive the misleading title

    thank you for the reply
