I found it a bit hard to understand what you were saying. Could you use a new line for each sentence, please?

Okay, I can't help with all of this but just check something about "My Documents" and see if it helps.

When you have "My Documents" open, choose "Tools - Folder Options" from the menus. (If it isn't there, it's under "View - Folder Options".)

Click on the "View" tab and look in the list for "Show My Documents on the Desktop".

Put a tick in the box if there isn't one.

This will put an icon on your desktop and hopefully bring it back to your folder list too.

I have a similar problem at the moment on 2000 and ticking that box has improved matters. For me, "My Documents" is in the wrong place and ticking the box put it where it belongs.

I would make sure that the file missing is not 'msinfo.exe' instead of info.exe. When you reboot your computer and receive possible errors about a missing file 'msinfo.exe' that is probably spyware (CoolWebSearch) and would explain many of the issues you are experiencing.

Maybe try the steps here, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

Not sure how you've been searching but I just put info.exe virus into Google and came up with some hits which suggest you may have been hit with a Trojan or that you're using a computer profiling tool. I certainly can't find anything that suggests it's a legitimate Windows program.

OK. I would still run thru the Malware steps and see if it helps any. The process and file name(s) change all the time.
