Cannot find or delete

Not sure if this is a malware or software problem.
Downloaded some old movies. They are binary files. They show on my desktop. But, none of the programs I use (Quick time, Win Player, VLC) can run them.
Since I do not want to load my computer with every program made of this nature, I decided to delete them.
I cannot, and get a message that access is denied.
I tried Revo uninstaller, to no avail.
Search did not turn up anything with the title, I can find no programs of that name, and I have no idea how to get them deleted or uninstalled.
Anyone have a suggestion?
I did an Avast virus scan on them, it came up negative

Most likely not a malware problem. Try booting into safe mode and deleting them. Make sure that you do not open any browsers or programs like Quicktime or Windows Media player. Just right click on the files and select Delete.

You cannot use a program like Revo Uninstaller. These are not installed programs. They are just files you downloaded. Some of them may be corrupted files.

uninstalled through Safe Mode.
Rebooted normally, Move icons gone and Revo uninstalled
