Cannot hook up LinkSys Router

I am trying to hook up my wireless router. I connected my computer to it wired and plan to have my lab top run off the wireless. When I hook it up it keeps bringing me to the telus place where I have to register a mac address. I have two spots avaliable and one is my computer. I checked the MAC Address which is on my router and typed that in but it still wont work Any suggestions?

how do you get to router with standard ip address in url
can you see the status of connection
try renew ip
unplug modem from router unplug router from machine power all off
reconnect all reboot modem first the router then machine

 

I can't even get on the internet. It keeps bringing me to the telus page where it says I have to register the MAC address. I typed the one that was on the bottom of the router but it still don't work properly.

Answers:

It is a modem router, the ethernet cable that comes out of the modem connects to the back of the router. I have renewed the IP lots of times, and restarted my modem many times. I don't understand the other questions

 

Alright I am almost a hundred percent sure that this is an ISP related issue because I have internet without the router, but I remember when i first got my computer I had to register it through telus, the MAC Address of the computer before the internet would work. Now I have to do it with the router.
