Cannot install new Nvidia drivers on Optimus enabled notebook

I have an Asus A53SV-XN1 laptop and I cannot install the new (275.33) Nvidia drivers from their website. It says it cannot find the correct hardware, so it will not install. The current drivers are 267.21 and I am running Windows 7 64-bit SP1.

 

Download the free, Speccy http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...s&txt=http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html then run Speccy and click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below (note: as Speccy also now lists more data it likely will have your Windows licence serial key also in the log, so look for Operating System and under that Serial Number and delete the code and Save the log)

Also, I was trying to get them off of the Nvidia website because the drivers on the Asus website were not the newest.

 

Thanks for the report/log, there seems to be a few people having this issue and using a modded driver resolves it.....

LaptopVideo2Go.com has patched a display INF file out of the original Nvidia GPU driver INF file version 8.17.11.9716 (dated 03/16/2010). All you need to do is to download the right nv_disp.inf depending on your Windows architecture edition (i.e., 32 bit or 64 bit), copy it at the same folder your non-working Nvidia display driver had previously extracted (e.g., C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\197.16\WinVista_Win7\International) and run the setup.exe just inside of that folder.
