Cannot install programs

I am trying to install a program on a xp pro 32 bit laptop and when I try and install I get a popup saying "Please gop top the control panel to install and configure system components"

I got this message after doing a reinstall of xp using a full format.

follow the process :

from left column choose
Summary ( wait 30 seconds until report generated )
from bar menu select :

File
Save as Text file
choose desktop as saving location

What is your service pack level?

What is your Windows Installer version? (Check msiexec.exe in C:\WINDOWS\system32)
