Title says it all and I am attaching a MGtools log file. I double click the setup file for superantispyware and the hourglass symbol comes up for like 10 seconds and goes away and nothing happens, same thing for malwarebytes antimalware, and also the same thing happens for spyware search and destroy. And yes I have tried all 3 in safe mode, and same exact same thing happens. Also I have noticed that I cannot get rid of a process on task manager called iexplore.exe, there is usually 2 already running, i close them all and 1 just keeps popping back up. And another problem... when i search for something on google and click one of the results, it ALWAYS brings me to some weird site, like some health site, or progressive auto insurance site, or some other advertisement website. Any help is appreciated, before I get upset and re-install windows. BTW I have windows XP Pro SP3.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

We don't really have enough info with just the log from MGtools to know what is going on, but I do have a proposed solution and maybe it will help us get further along. Make sure you complete ALL instruction in the exact order given.

First I see that you did not even download ComboFix to your Desktop. You need to download it right now. DO NOT run it. Just download it. Also note while we are telling you to download ComboFix to your Desktop, it is a bad practice for you to be doing this with your other downloads. You should download them somewhere else safe. Like a C:\Downloads folder. We also specified not to put MGtools.exe on your Desktop but you still did.

Now since your AVG8 is broken and it is also out of date, we will download (but not install yet) the current version. So please download this: AVG AntiVirus Free Edition 8.5 Build 285a1462 and save it to your Downloads folder.

Now you must disable Spybot's Teatimer. See this: How to disable Spybot's TeaTimer

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    Java(TM) 6 Update 11
    Java(TM) 6 Update 7

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.
After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

If any of the below steps do not work, just tell me later what happen but try all steps and keep on going.

    • Now try to install and run SUPERAntiSpyware per the READ & RUN ME.
    • Now try to install and run Malwarebytesper the READ & RUN ME.
    • Now try to run ComboFix per the READ & RUN ME.
    • Now install the new version of AVG8.5 that you downloaded from my link above. If it asks you to reboot, make sure you reboo before continuing.
Also delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Spidur Pig\Local Settings\Temp

Now run Ccleaner to clean out only temp files and nothing else!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\avenger.txt
    • SUPERantiSpyware log
    • Malwarebytes log
    • C:\combofix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
