cannot open a zip file

i have a gamedata file named 0compressed.zip that i want to open. i've tried winrar, 7zip, uniextract, zipeg, izarc etc but nothing worked. so how do i open this file? :confused

 

Your zip file is probably corrupted. In Winrar there is an option to do a repair. You might want to try that.

 

If you downloaded it from somewhere, it may have become corrupted / truncated during the download; download it again.

 

Or it may not be meant to be open by a normal zip/rar program, instead something specific to the game manufacturer.

 

you're right. it's not meant to be opened by the usual software and the game developer is EA Redwood Shores. the file is from the godfather the game cd. i'm trying to open this file 'coz when i try to install, the installer doesn't install the game files. it just copies the exe and a few help files. :cry but technically there should be way to open this, right?

 

If winrar did not work then most likely no.Games like Playstation and Xbox like that there games have special software that the maker has.

I bet that none of the regular stuff like winrar can't even open it.

Good info there, plodr mentions Universal Extractor there, may be worth a try, I've used it before to open tough nuts...

 

UE can't recognize filetype. thanks anyway. i'm giving up for now

 

Defo sounds like a corrupted zip file to me.
