Hi Everyone.I am new here and I down loaded a file yesterday but cannot get it to unzip
The file downloaded isCDBurnerXP 3.0.116 Beta
I use Zip it fast pro for all my zip files.
I have a 2700meghertz intel Pentium4 with 8 kilobytes primary memory cache and 512kilobytes of secondary cache
    CD-RW- CDR-6852 (cd rom drive)
I cannot get the burner file to setup I double click it as per my normal routine I have designated it to my documents file but it will not open .
I would appreciate your advice thanks , Larry

I double checked to make sure that it was a zip file before replying. You could try opening the zip file to see if there is a single executable file that you could run. Almost forgot, welcome to MajorGeeks! :)

I have CDBurnerXP Pro 3.0.0.113, and had no problems with unzipping Using the XP feature. No problems setting up either. Perhaps you can go to the Authors site (if you haven't already), and see if there is something helpful there, as this is a beta.

Larry, (as some other people'd suggested) identify the file type first so you know what software you need. One of the easiest way to identify the file type is to right-click on it and then choose 'Properties' and view the file info on the 'General' tab.

Another method would be to check the file extension (if it is not visible do this) START > Control Panel > Folder Options > View > UNCHECK the option 'Hide extensions for known file types'. OK your way out and then F5 to refresh contents and then check its extension. Normally, if file extension was saved incorrectly, Windows would ask you the application you wanted to open the file/program (in question) with. Even if you changed the file's extension Windows should still see the 'actual' file type and allow you to choose an applicable program that would open it and also would open it afterwards given the fact that the file is not corrupted.

Sorry my advice wasn't able to help you. As I had no problems with my version of the older program, perhaps some other of the good people here can help you. I feel for you, as I also have a medical condition that I struggle with, although not the same as yours. I wish you good luck with trying again, and hope you get your program up and running.

I am sorry to hear about your condition as well. PC problems do not help either! but try not to stress over it too much please.
If you would like me to see what the deal is with the zip files send me a small and not-so-personal one if you like...
If possible try to respond to my earlier post so I know you read it and then re-post your feedback:
