cannot remove adware from computer

    Looks like it worked. How is everything running now? Anymore problems with popups like you were having.

    By the way back around 6/30/2004 we did disable third-party browser extensions. Here is what I said:
    "How about giving this quick try, from Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, Advanced look for the line that says Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart). Uncheck it and restart. See what that does."

    You said it did not help. But did you go back and re-enable them? The reason I'm asking is because in the O9 section of your HijackThis log it shows file missing for the Java and Comcast lines. These occurred right after you disabled third-party extensions.

    Everything seems to be running fine thus far. Thanks so very much!!! I haven't fixed the fax yet, but will get to it. Still have to manually boot up McAfee, but that's no biggee. The pop-ups seem to be gone!!! Will let you know if they return. I still have third-party disabled - should I re-enable?
