According to Mike Lin's directions, you are supposed to be able to remove his Startup program.
I do not find Startup or cpl in system 32 or system in Win. explorer as he says one should. It has been in my pc a long time but I just noticed it.
He advises against the use of the registry and agree -I cannot do that.
I Googled this and found a 1/2 dozen folks with the same issue.
The author leaves two options, one is to donate and the other is to join a Google forum which had problems with before.
Does anyone know a way to remove this program?
One person was accused of being too anal in wantting to rid their add/remove of the ?appplet.
I hope i am ot in that categry.:(
I supose a log is an overkill for something that is only a pest and not a problem?
If you know of an uninstaller or some way please advise.

Do you have Revo Uninstaller software installed? If so, you can try to use "Hunter" mode to uninstall. The instructions on how to do it are in Revo Uninstaller's help file (PDF).

Here's the link to Revo Uninstaller if you don't have it yet. http://majorgeeks.com/Revo_Uninstaller_d5706.html

Got to admit I've never used the Hunter mode because not needed it so far.

I dragged the icon in the add/remove panel right into the Hunter flame but nothing happened.

I found the key in the registry which says StartupCPL.
    It has sub keys.
Can I just right click the Startup CPL key to remove the program or will I be doing harm in the registry?

If the Hunter mode of Revo Uninstall didn't work, just delete file c:\windows\system32\Startup.cpl and it's gone.

    >>
1- the items Mike Lin referred to where not in system or system 32
2-I found the reg key I indicated but the icon still remained after deletion
3-I did a search of .cpl and of the, well over 80 items that appeared, only one said, startup.
4-I right clicked it and it said, as one of the choices, open location in control panel - his program appeared.
5-I deleted this .cpl and the icon went away with it.
It seems straight forward when you read Mike Lin's directions but if you Google the issue you will find many people who did not have the items required to delete in the folders he said to. I read about 1/2 dozen testimonials stating they could not find any reference to his applet in system or system 32.
It fine now and with help from good people it was a learning experience. One I would not have tried had I not have had a system 'image' in my external drive with Acronis and Macrium; desktop and laptop respectively.
