Cannot sync files to Sony Ericsson C510...?

Hello,

I'm stuck! I just got a new second-hand phone (a Sony Ericsson C510) and the CD won't start up. I downloaded and installed the PC suite with no problems but it doesn't seem to work like my old Ericsson W200 because I need to install 'MediaGo' as well despite the fact that there appeared to be a file transfer facility in the PC suite (which didn't work, unfortunately). So I downloaded 'MediaGo' but whenever I go through the installation process, I end up with the same message:

"The Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable has failed to install. Please consult the Microsoft knowledge base article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/556085/ja for more information on this problem"

Well, it leads me to a site in Japanese so I translated the page and it turns out I have to visit a bewildering 'solution centre' which has, as ever, no useful information on my particular problem.

It's such a simple thing to transfer files...I have an ancient mp3 player that handles lots of files extremely quickly. How can it be so hard? Can anyone help?

if the install fails from this package, then something else is foobar. Suggest you post in software.

I managed to sort it out using the PC suite in the end. The solution was just an oversight on my part as I think I was in the wrong connection mode....doh! Sorry to waste your time, folks. You can count this query as 'dealt with'.
