cannot uninstall sims deluxe edition....

i'm tying to clean out my memory (need to play spades.....BADLY) and i cannot uninstall this sims game....i have both discs......went to add/remove programs...........(this is where i ripp my hair out and scream at computer)........please insert disc 1 .....disc 2 .......then nothing......20 minutes watching little green dots....nothing..i'm afraid sims has been installed about 5 or 6 times while i was trying to delete it......please help me as i don't want to be the one sneaking up to my pc with a sledge hammer.....

Wow. So the control panel uninstaller wants you to insert each disk?
Do you use Crap Cleaner, or Spybot? Those are two apps that I know of that list "uninstallers" registered on your system. Maybe you could run it directly from there instead of the control panel? I'm not saying it's a solution, just trying to help since you haven't gotten a reply w/a brain yet.
If all else fails, though, Ace Hardware sells an 8lb. maul for just under 12$.

im guessing you tried the obvious answer, to use the Un-Installer that the game provides instead of the Windows Add/Remove programs?

Failing that you can always just delete the game and its files, and if you want to be sure its completly gone then Run > Regedit > Find > "Sims" > Delete

That is very bizarre. First the obvious...you are clicking "Remove" rather than "change" under add/remove programs, correct? I have changed progs. before and they sometimes require that you insert the disk. If you have done that correctly and the program itself does not provide an uninstaller, then you need to manually delete the program in the "programs" folder, as pointed out by Kronus. Just delete all related files and folders to the game and then run regcleaner or something of the like and delete the registry key that will be obsolete (or manually). Make sure the program is not "read only," though. If it is, right click on it and go to properties, then uncheck "read only." That should do it, but other than that, I don't know why you are having that problem (your using XP right?).

Here is a good tip. When I am about to do big changes to my system while trouble-shooting, I like to create a restore point right before I change things. That way, if like in your case, you added a prog. 5 times, you can restore to before you did anything and try a new solution. This is a good idea in case a new problem occurs somehow. You can just restore and figure out what is going on. Good luck.

 

the reson that its doing that is cuz while it wuz installing, my bro turned off the computer & messed it up and naow im angry cuz I payed $23 for that game & it wont even work! :crybaby

 

I have windows 7 and the game worked fine until I added Hot date. Now I can't play that game, it won't execute. I can't uninstall it from remove programs and a removal from the program does not exist. If I try to delete the program files and from the registry, when I go to reinstall the game I get an error message "Cannot find the Sku in the registry file" and it stops installing. Any suggestions!
