Cannot uninstall software

Cannot uninstall software for HP scanjet 5300C, says that a file is missing, can anyone take me throughy the steps to rectify this problem by either somehow re-installing it or removing the siftware altogether, I have tried to re-install with no luck, my system is windows XP on a server, however the scanner is plugged straight into the computer, any help would be appreciated, thankyou.

 

Hmmm... what happened when you tried to re-install the software? I'm imagining that is saying that its found a previous installation? If that were the case, you could probably re-install after deleting the program file folder for this app. Then, hopefully, all the files required for normal UNinstallation would be available on your system.

Thankyou for replying, I did try that but to no avail, it did not find the previous installation, and still had the error message uninstall has not worked or something like that, however, I've managed to persuade someone in HP to give me the regedit information to delete the problem, just need the administrator to do the business, once again thankyou for trying to help its much appreciated.
