    Hi Folks,
I have a WD Passpport 250 GB USB external hard drive. "My Computer" shows I have 176 GB of free space on this drive. However, when I try to copy large files (4 GB) to the drive I get a "disk full" message. Any tips on how to rectify this problem?
    Thanks,
    Ian

The WD drive is probably formatted as FAT32 which has a 4GB size limit for files. Break the file into two smaller pieces then see if it will transfer.

    Hi Plodr,
Thank you very much for correctly identifying the problem with file transfer that I was having.
By splitting the files, I was able to copy them to the FAT32 drive.:major
