It's killing me... I have a Canon i470D inkjet and when it starts it gives a 804 error code.

Supposedly this may be a message to clear the waste ink tank, but from what I have read you can clear the message via a reset code and continue using the printer.

The only other option is to throw it out, because there is no way it would be economical to send the printer for service.

Anyone have a reset code for the i470d? I've found other codes for similar Canon printers, but none have worked on the i470D.

    thanks. And Merry Christmas.

Check out the Canon i470D User Manual. It will tell you that the most common reason for Error Panel Code 804 is due to the fact that the Purge Unit or Circuit Board either needs to be serviced or replaced. Sounds like exactly what you do not want to do. Wish I had an easier solution for you :(

Yep saw that one too... the only service this guy will see is the inside of a garbage can.... unless other scuttlebutt on the web is correct, and all it needs is a reset. thanks anyway.
