Can't access Earthlink Webmail after ZoneAlarm update

    Hello Major Geeks,
    I have a paid subscription for ZoneAlarm security suite. After a recent update I have not been able to access earthlink.net or webmail.earthlink.net. It is not their server (I've been able to access from other computers) Status at the bottom of the window indicates connected, but the page does not redirect and indicates "loading...loading...loading" without timing out or changing.

    I'm not sure if the update and the sudden inability to access this account are related. I can access all other online accounts except earthlink/webmail. I've tried both IE and Firefox (my main web browser).

    I'm also not sure where to post for assistance or advice, so please forgive me if this is the wrong spot on MajorGeeks.com.

    Thank you for any steps to get into my email again!

    I have Earthlink dsl and I access my mail thru Embarq, Not earthlink.

    Hi

    Just to test disable ZoneAlarm and then try to see if you can connect to your email? if you can then the issue is with ZoneAlarm and that update as it co-insided with yoru lack of connection to email.

    Do all other webpages work ok?

    What version of IE and Firefox do you have? are they both upto date?

    Use CCleaner to clean up your temps and cookies and then try again.

    Add earthlink.net and webmail.earthlink.net to the IE allowed list, open IE and click Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab and then Sites button and add those two urls as Allow (you may see many sites listed as Blocked if you use the likes of Spybot or Spywareblaster and this is normal)

    Thank you, Halo.
    I just changed ZoneAlarm's "smart defense advise" from automatic to manual and that seems to have worked.

    I do indeed have the most current IE/Firefox browsers. And all other pages including accounts have been working fine. Earthlink was already set as allowed and I ran CCleaner prior to posting... all odd that nothing worked!
