    Hi,
    OS: - Windows 7 64-bit
    C: - Samsung SSD

My system has been running fine until now. When I boot, I get a few seconds into the 'Starting Windows' screen and then I get a quick flash of blue screen before a restart and that process loops.

The 'Technical Information' on the BSOD is as follows:
    *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A97E8, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

chkdsk from the Windows CD finds no errors or problems and I CAN boot into Safe Mode (Startup repair and system restore aren't fixing anything either).

Hitting F10 upon startup also displays the following info:
    Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
    Partition: 2
    Hard Disk: bd064501
    [ /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN

From cmd on the windows CD using /Scanos in bootrec.exe, 0 Windows installations are found, despite Safe Mode booting into Windows fine.

From searching around, I've found people with similar problems stemming from viruses that have affected the bootloader. I have a backup mac that I have used to burn a Bitdefender boot CD and have ran a scan. It found 3 viruses and removed 2 of them. The third was a quarantined file that it couldn't fix or delete.
Other people have fixed similar BSOD loop problems by switching SATA stuff over in the BIOS, I tried this but it didn't help, it seemed unlikely to anyway since the pc was booting fine before this problem.

    Does anyone have any ideas?
I'd really appreciate some guidance before I start messing with the bootloader as that's something I've not had experience with before.

Thanks in advance and please don't hesitate to ask for any extra information,

    Matt

Since you are able to boot into safe mode, I suggest you pursue this in the software forum. If you can get into normal mode and still think it is a malware issues, come back to the malware forum and follow the Read and Run First instructions.

I suggest you first reset the BIOS. Selecting Default Settings doesn't always work.
On the motherboard there are 2 pins that need to be shorted - you need to consult the motherboard support manual. The easier option is to remove the CMOS battery AFTER turning off the PC and unplugging it from the mains. Wait 10 minutes before replacing the battery. During that time, check the voltage - it must be 3 volts.
