Cant Burn Cds? Please help....

I have a HP DVD Writer 1270t, I recently bought it the other day and on the box it says it can burn cds. But when I try to burn some music onto a cd in windows media player it says. Windows media player has encountered a problem while burning the file to a disc. Anyone have any idea why I cant burn music or anything at all onto a cd? My drivers are up to date as well and the cd rom drive did not come with any software in the box.

 

Try a different program. There are plenty of programs for audio & dvd burning over in the file section of this website.

 

I ran into the same problem, and I manually lowered the write speed and after a try or two was successfully able to burn them. Also, after I realized I had bought 100 blank CD's from a Big Box Store for 7.99, i started throwing them away if they didn't work. Saved me a lot of headache.

 

tru.... you got any suggestions for a free cd burning program? And how would I go about lowering the write speed?

Once installed, look up the Help files to find out how you can change the Write Speed of your drive.

 

I'd try CDburnerXP as in Reviver's link. Give it a go at normal write speed (most burners actually write best at full speed). I think the problem is just Windows built in burning software is less than stellar.

 

I use Active@iso to make bootable disks, and I just recently installed realplayer and I'm able to snag videos off youtube and create cd's and dvd's. it also has an interface that allows you convert it to your blackberry or iPhone.
