Can't complete System Restore/All photos won't open...

About a week ago, none of my photos would open up. I tried several system restores, but after it goes through the entire process, it states ,"cannot restore your system as requested." I have Avira Antivirus and did a couple scans, but it states no spyware or malware present. It does state there is 9 hidden files, but doesn't offer a way to delete them. I have an E-Machines computer with Windows XP. Thanks very much for any help! I tried a different forum, but its been seven days and no help.

 

What program are you using to open your photos with? What is the error you are getting, or the behavior you are observing.

Lastly, what operating system and service pack level are you running?

 

Hi, and thanks for your help! I am using Nero Photo Snap Viewer to open my photos. You may know the program. The photo portion is only a part of several, such as DVD, CD, music, etc. The message I am getting when I try to open a photo is this:
File C:\Documents and settings\owner\desktop\DeanMartinSet\DeanMartin01.jpg
could not be opened (blank screen box where photo should be)
I am running Windows XP, service pack 2

 

Wow! Thanks very much! That worked! I will write this down and keep it...this happened once before to me about a year ago on another computer. If you have any suggestions on how to get my system restore working again, any tips would be appreciated! Thanks again for helping me so quickly!
