can't connect to Internet

Hi there
I know there are lot of threads out there like this but I think I have a unique problem. My comp just recovered from this virus which kept on latching onto sensitive files so maybe it can be because of that.

I'm using Vista with the latest service pack, there is no other firewall (i shut down kaspersky) I have tried resetting the router many times, tried hardwiring it nothing works but here is the kicker when I run the comp on safe mode with networking everything works fine.
