I posted elsewhere about not being able to load Java. It seems I have more issues. My CD-ROM can't access it's drivers, and I can't do a System Restore. I've tried several restore points and it just won't do it. The computer still does internet fine. I've run AntiVir, Malwarebytes, Spybot and SUPERAntispyware, but nothing shows up. In my Device Managers I have the ole' explanation point by the CD_ROM drive (TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633A ATA Device)

My computer is a Presario CQ50 with Vista Basic.

I really could use some help on this one, as I'm way over my head here.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Try System Restore again later and maybe a few times tomorrow and the next day, it's a little buggy sometimes - usually when you need it most.

I was going to try and get one of the Microsoft help links on their website to help, but I can't open IE. Firefox works OK, but won't support the MS fix service. Is there a bug going around that blocks all the easy ways to get a problem like this fixed?
