Can't do the Read and Run Procedures even in safe mode

Good Morning,

Running XP SP3.

What I do know: Daughter foolishly fell for the AntiVirus Pro 2009 prompts and now computer will freeze up when running windows in normal mode. I have tried multiple times to get into safe mode. I get as far as choosing the user in safe mode and then it freezes.

I obviously cannot do the run and read me procedures and am not sure how to proceed at this point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you cannot run anything, not even MGtools in normal boot mode nor in safe boot and cannot give us any logs, then there is not much we can do for you except say the below:

Take the hard disk out and scan it in another well protected PC

Use another PC to make a special CD which you can boot from to try and run virus and spyware scans or to at least backup data. CDs like the below:
