    hi.
I'm running an old computer and trying to get the best of it... after i had some malware issues i tried to run some test and i was shocked to find lot of them.
as i tried to open msconfig in 'run' it said windows cant find it. i looked in the regedit (it workes, as well as the task manager) i couldn't find it either.
forthermore, when i tried to run the "read me and run" tests the MGtools was hang on the miscinfo.bat saying "user account list seen from wmi".

i'm adding a zip file (including the unfinished MGtools one and Hijack this i supposed it should have run automatically) with all the logs.

    thanks a lot
and forgive me for the bad english...
    ronen

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
Is this your only problem? This is not amlware problem. The file is right where it is supposed to be. I suspect that you are just missing the registry entry that describes where it is located to Windows. The below should fix this:

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

You will have to reboot before checking it to see if it worked. I also suggest that you run the below.

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

hi. thank you for the fast reply. you're awsome.
unfortunately this registry patch didn't work. i still cant get the msconfig to work via 'run'. the entry is now on the list though.
i assumed this is malware problem because my chrome browser also make problems; it redirected the homepage automatically to some unknown search engine. well, this i managed to fix. sorry. thought it was connected.
here's the log file you requested.
    thanks again

    You're welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Go back to step 4 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
