I'm trying to do a slight overclock on my Acer Aspire M1201 and having a real fun time trying to do so.

All relevant chip set features are locked so i cant change the Bus speed or my multiplier. So I decided ill try ClockGen but I cant find my PLL anywhere, either im blind or my motherboard doesn't have one. Tried Ntune to try to find the motherboard version or vendor but no such luck. The closest thing I can find is
Acer RS7440DVF but I'm fairly certain its not what I'm looking for.

If anyone can give me any help finding my PLL or a way to unlock my bios features it would be greatly appreciated Ive been going at this for hours not making any progress.

    Sys Info.
    Acer Aspire M1201
    Motherboard Manufacturer Acer Model RS740DVF
    Chipset: ATI RS690/RS690M Rev.00
    Southbridge: ATI SB700
Low Pin count Input/Output: ITE IT8T18
    Bios: American Megatrends Inc
    Version R03-B1
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000B
    Bus: 200 Mhz
    Multiplier: x10.5

Any help would be be greatly appreciated

Most "brand name" computer manufacturers don't use motherboards that allow overclocking simply to cut down on warranty returns from abuse.
If you really want to OC a unit I suggest building one, that way you can get a motherboard with overclocking featurers.

    I'm currently runnung a Intel Xeon 3070 core2duo 2.66GHz at 3.2GHz .

Post a high resolution pic of your mobo and I will find it for you ;)

Most not all, and overclocking isn't just about making fast hardware go faster, its just as much about making cheap or "brand name" systems run faster.

Well said! I'm always seeing these posts on other sites about how someone took an Intel Quad 9550 and got it up to 3.6 or whatever. It's so freekin' fast at stock, that overclocking something that's already screamin' fast seems a bit redundant (at least, IMHO), and could possibly be a huge waste of money if it gets burned up..... I understand the whole "bragging rights" thing, but taking an Athlon X2 4400+ up to 3.2ghz or more, now THAT makes sense, and is a heck of an accomplishment!!!

It may not be much of an accomplishment but I have my Xeon 3070 C2D 2.66GHz running at 3.2GHz with the multiplier set to 8 , the bus at 400 X 4 = 1600MHz front bus with no vcore increase .
It will do 3.6GHz but I don't like pushing it that hard.
