Cant find "services.msc"

"about:blank" has got a hold on me. After running Spybot - found and deleted 3 thingys; Mcafee - found three viruses, only one would delete, the other two wouldnt delete, clean, or quarentine; then I started down thru your Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal tutorial. The first step has me stumped. When I did Start, Run,"services.msc", I get "Cannot find the file "services.msc" (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available." Is this good/bad? Will the Removal tutorial process work properly without this?

Please post more useful information! Statements like "deleted 3 thingys" and "Mcafee - found three viruses, only one would delete, the other two wouldnt delete" are not very helpful to us. It would be similar to me telling you to run the thing tool to fix your thing problems that McAfee does not fix. Get my point? Provide specifics. Like file names and virus names. Where they are located etc.

Please follow the steps below.

Please read the announcement and sticky threads. HJT logs should only be posted when requested and then they must be attachments to your message.

Please follow the steps below (note the READ ME tells you that step 2 only applies to WinNT, Win2K and WinXP).

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
Also to get you started and to reduce the size of your HJT log. Do the following:

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

After working thru the steps of your "Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal" all of the symptoms of "about:blank" seem to be gone. According to Hijack This analysis I still have some Questionables, but the Nasties are gone and so are the symptoms. Thank You for the cleaning steps, and the reminder about reading more carefully. Kay.
