I'm using Windows XP Professional. I accidentally rebooted with a blank floppy in the drive. Big booboo right there. There was a black screen with white letters saying something Caldera. It also said, "Not ready error reading drive A. Abort, Retry, Fail? I tried typing A for abort. I tried exit, close, and quit. I'm still stuck here. It's scrolled down, so unfortunately, I can't tell you anymore details about the first message except that it had something to do with a Caldera program. I googled Caldera and I think it's some kind of DOS program. But the floppy was blank. I checked it in another computer.

Is there a command to get me off this screen or is it safe to just shut down the computer with the power button?

Any advice would be appreciated. I don't want to make it worse than it already is.

Update: I rebooted and it's doing fine now.

Fail will often do the job when Abort won't.

Booting with a floppy in your computer used to be a fairly common error and unless the floppy had a program on it to start doing anything like wiping your computer and reinstalling it, it's no problem just to wait until the light on the floppy drive goes out, remove the floppy and then reboot if you can't force the computer to stop trying to use the floppy.
