I have ran a hijack this in safemode and this is the string I get. When I am in normal mode my Trend Micros won't run. It is downloaded, but when I open the program I get a blank screen with the name and logo at the top, when I try to use the drop down menu to start a scan nothing happens. Same thing happens to AVG and Mcafee. System Restore only gives me a blank screen also. Any clues. I have tried running anti-virus/spyware in safe mode, but problem still happens when I return to normal mode.
here is hijack this string: (NOTE: I REMOVED MCAFEE, BUT THIS SAYS ITS STILL THERE???)

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

What have you been doing with HijackThis on your own???? All of your Windows Startup entries are missing and this is not normal. If you have been deleting things with HijackThis then restore them from the Misc Tools > Backups feature. If you are filtering any entries from showing in HijackThis then stop using the filter feature.

Now run this McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool to resolve your issue with McAfee.

Now if you have malware problems (your message did not state any malware issues), please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

Note: If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

It looks like life is much better (at least in computer wise). Here are the logs from the Read/Run Me 1st. Note the Mbam and SAS logs are in one attachment. Hope that's not a problem. Anything I missed?? Thanks for your help.

WARNING: You currently have no protection software installed. No antivirus, no realtime antispyware blocker, and no real firewall.

Uninstall the below old versions of Sun Java as requested in step 1 of the READ & RUN ME.
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1827766B-9F49-4854-8034-F6EE26FCB1EC} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: WormRadar.com IESiteBlocker.NavFilter - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\avgssie.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E3215F20-3212-11D6-9F8B-00D0B743919D} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O23 - Service: STOPzilla Service (szserver) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Common Files\iS3\Anti-Spyware\SZServer.exe (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Since you have no protection in place, it would be in yor best interest to finish this quickly and avoid using this PC until you do.

So I ran fixes from the last post. I did get a successful msg from the registry addition. Attached are the logs you requested. I tried to install an AVG anti-spyware/anti-virus program just to have a little protection, but I got the following error log:

    Local machine: installation failed
    Installation:
Error: Action failed for registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows: creating registry key....
    Error 0x80070005

I also have a TrendMicros A-S/A-V if that would work better. Should I be trying to install any A-S/A-V at this point?

Things seem to be working outside of the above. I lost a few start-up shortcuts, but I can recreate them with no problem. The programs still seem to be installed.

I don't know what the cause of this problem is but it is not malware. Your logs are clean.

If you are referring to a paid subscription version then it would be fine. You need to be able to get updates.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. You can uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware now.
    2. We recommed you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as a scanner. It uses no resources except a little disk space until you run a scan.
    3. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    9. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
