    I have a PC running a Pentium 4 @ 3GHz with 1 GB of RAM and about
250GB of hard drive space. I've got Windows XP professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

I've followed all of the steps in the READ & RUN ME FIRST post from chaslang.

Attached are the logs from BitDefender and Panda as well as Hijackthis.

Norton Antivirus identifies my computer as having Trojan.StartPage.M and it blocks it every time. However, evertime I restart my computer and launch IE, up pops the same message. Since I got a major upgrade to Norton, Norton itself triggers the virus everytime it checks for/downloads virus definition updates. It has to be something tied to IE....if I browse with Firefox, no virus message from Norton. I'd appreceate any help.

That seems to have nailed it. I ran IE and Norton Update, rebooted my computer several times and have not received the warning from Norton that it detected the trojan. Thanks so very much. I've been figting this thing for over a year! And thanks to majorgeeks for providing this forum. It's a great resource and I plan to explore it's many features.
