Can't get to the internet :banghead

My duaghters computer use to get into my wireless router and hook up to the internet. Then she took it to a so called "computer expert". He cleaned her system up. Her wireless worked on his network (which is all apple and should not make a differeance.) Now she can not get back to the internet through my router anymore.And her AIM won't connect either. I can ping the router from her machine, but I can't get out . Her laptop is a dell INSPIRON. I have listed the network cards and they are as follows

1394 net adapter
broadcom 440x 10/100 intergrted controler
Intel pro wireless 2200bg netwrk connection

I am at an impass and pulling my hair out (what little I have left) so before I am completely bald please help. Thank you in advance for any help

 

when I go to start connect to the enternet I get a scerrn that says "connecting thru WAN Mimiport" after a while I get an error "error 678 repomte computer does not respond". the trys to reconnect after 60 seconds.

 

I found the problem finally. It appears the computer expert loaded zone alarm on her machine. There already was windows firewall. there was a conflect. Removed zone alarm and low and behold the internet opened up. kids.............:confused
