Can't get Win7 SP1 to load / install

Hi,

My PC for some reason appears to have never installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Each time I shut it down, it downloads 1 or 2 Updates. Yet, the PC never completes the Win7 SP1 update?

I've tried using the Windows Update feature and manually download and install it. I either "sit and spin" and the download doesn't start, or it downloads, but then won't install... :confused

I already have the winrscmde host trojan / worm, and have now picked up the W32 IRCBot worm, too. :-o

Thoughts on how to get Win7 SP1 to install?

If you have malware on your PC, Windows will not update.

Need to remove the malware and the below will help, follow the Read Me and then start a new thread in the Malware area of this forum and attach your logs, then one of our malware removal experts will assist you, once the malware is removed then try the SP1 update again, if it still doesnt install, post back in this thread and we can go from there.

I've seen "logs" from previous posts / when I ran a Search on one of the malware apps I have.

How do you get the log to save / print?

Hi

In the Read Me guide to Malware removal the instructions are there as to saving and where the logs are saved on your PC.

Just go slowly through the guide and complete each step.
