can't hook monitor

    i have a new cyberpower computor with no 15 pin analog connector for my monitor...the monitor is analog & dvi compatable...i bought a hdmi to dvi cable and i can't hook it up to my computer...i have a viewsonic va2226w monitor... can anyone help me...

    Do you have the adapter for the video card ? What kind of video card connection do you have ? if it is analog then you need the converter for the DVI cable .

    Well you should be able to use a DVI cable with no trouble . Could you post pic's of the connectors on both the video card and the monitor ? this might help more .

    I don't know why you bought the hdmi cable, all you need is a dvi cable, one with dvi connectors on both ends, similar to your 15pin vga connector, it also has the same connectors on both ends. If your card has only dvi and no 15pin vga (or analog) then you need a dvi at the card and a dvi at the monitor to get true digital display. If you buy a dvi to vga adapter to use your present cord you will get analog instead of digital display.
