Can't install MP3 on PC

I purchased an inexpensive MP3 player/USB storage stick.
The installation disk that came with it is a 3" format and when I try to open it I get the message: "Unable to open the self-extracting executable file. The file is locked or in use by another process. The installation will terminate"
My o/s is Windows XP Home Sp3.

 

To take the 3" disk out of the equation you can just make a new folder on your desktop and copy all the files from the CD to that folder and try to run installation from there. Looking for a file like setup.exe to start the process.

 

try rebooting ur pc, and BEFORE plugging the usb disk copy the setup folder to desktop, and run it from there

Good idea except when I go to open the new file I get the message "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"..followed by the "Unable to open...." earlier message I mentioned!

 

when you copy the entire setup folder to desktop, is there an autorun.exe ? if not, can you please list all .exe that you find in there?

iuf you want zip the folder and post it, so i can test it here..
