    Hi again,
I recently did the Read and run me guide because of viruses and got some help (Thank you), however a few days ago I ran Super Anti Spyware and it found a Trojan. Then I ran it again and this time it didn't find anything.
But to be sure I don't have anything I am doing the Read & Run over again. I am now to the point where to install the Windows Recovery Console to ComboFix. I have downloaded the "WindowsXP-KB310994-SP2-Home-BootDisk-SVE.exe" to the desktop, but when I drag it onto the ComboFix icon it just asks me if I want to run ComboFix. There's no sign showing that The Windows Recovery Console will be installed. Why is this?
It happened to me last time also, and I never ran ComboFix.

I'm not sure what your problem is with ComboFix but I would guess that it is due the protection software that you are running. F-Secure and Spyware Doctor probably need to be shutdown to run ComboFix properly.

However I don't think you need to run the READ & RUN ME again as I doubt you are really having any malware issues. You could attach your most recent SAS log so we can see what it found.

Your slow PC issues are not due to malware it is F-Secure that is hogging all of your CPU time as you can easily see in your screen shot in message # 17 of your other thread here:

You also only have about half the amount of RAM that I would suggest to have on a Windows XP system. However even adding more RAM will not change the fact that F-Secure is using 41% of your CPU. You should uninstall it and use something else.

The SAS, Spybot and Anti-Malware did not find anything so I guess I will not continue with the read&un me.
I will try to change to something else than F-secure to see if it helps.
    Thanks again for the help.

    You're welcome.

Helps with what? What problems are you having?

My extremely slow computer. I can hear it working and working and it takes forever to open or close any application. I've followed the advise given when I posted in the software forum, but the only thing that helped was that it started a little faster. You said adding more ram might not help. The computer is a few years old...maybe I just need to get a new one.

Okay so did you try uninstalling all the F-Secure software that you probably got from your ISP? See how it runs after doing this. You should be able to live with this PC but just doubling the RAM and choosing your protection software more wisely.

If you do purchase a new PC make sure you have a heck of alot more RAM and that it has a faster PC.
