I am totally lost with all this stuff, I hope I've attached my log correctly. I can get online with my wireless router but I can't get my Internet Explorer to launch any web pages. I can open my emails with Earthlink but can not go on the web at all. I downloaded IE7 via FireFox which I had to download through the start run screen, but it still won't work. I also downloaded Ad-Aware and did a scan but it didn't fix the problem either. My warranty with Dell is expired and they want an arm and leg to help me. I was told to try your site to see if you can help. I am not sure what all infor you need, just let me know and I will try to figure it out.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome :)

You did the log fine, however Hijackthis is just one part of the removals process and in reality the last part, many think that it is a clean all tool, sadly its not.. which is why its best to follow the below guide ( Yes.. I can see your face now going "OMG that looks alot to do" but truct me if you mastered the installing, re-naming and posting of a hijackthis log you can do it ;) ) step by step and in order then on your next visit attach the requested logs, then our malware guys can get to work on helping you out in removing these pests.

The guide step and scans may or may not initially remove the malware, but once we have the logs some further instructions tailored to your specific malware infection will be posted for you to follow.

IF you do get stuck on any steps, their maybe an alternative mentioned, if not post and we will try our best to work you throught it :)

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
