Can't launch links

I recently had some issues installing the T-online Startcenter program which i have to use for my internet. Links worked just fine immediately after installing. However, in the morning when i restarted my laptop i could no longer launch my browser (firefox). ie, however worked just fine. i then uninstalled startcenter and used tune-up utilities to clean up the botched installation of t-online startcenter and then reinstalled. but now, although i can open firefox when i click on links nothing happens and i have to copy paste the link in the browser.

 

the funny thing is that i tried this before, lol. had to reinstall firefox for it to even be an option there. thanx steve!
