Can't log in as user

    Last month I bought an LG external burner. The unit works fine but the burning software is another matter -- it randomly locks up windows xp, preventing me from log out, or shutdown, or closing the program via task manager, etc.

    I just had to hard reset my machine, and now I can't log in as that user (the other works fine). Explorer starts up, but my task bar is completely frozen.

    The user profile may have been corrupted. Create a new user and delete the corrupted profile. You can move the data from the old profile to the new profile but you must do it as shown in the below link.
